You may start individual classes (one student/instructor) on any Monday of the year. You may attend from one week to twenty four weeks. We will individualize the program according to your needs.

Course Description

The duration of this course is from 1 week to twenty four weeks. Our courses are intensive 6-hours a day. Four of which are in a class and two are spent with a conversation tutor in real-life experiences around the city.

  • Morning classes are from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
    (one student/one instructor)
  • Afternoon classes are from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
    (one student/one instructor)

*Students in the one-on-one program may have a different schedule to be determined by the institute.

Morning classes:

In the morning you will cover 3 different components of the language. You will learn the Structure of the Language, Spanish Vocabulary and Practice, Pronunciation, Reading Comprehension, Writing, and more.

Afternoon Conversation Class:

In the afternoon you will have one-on-one hands on practice using the grammar and vocabulary you are learning in the program as you practice with a Conversation Guide. The Conversation Guide is a Native Speaker who will escort you to places of interest and correct your Spanish. You will be given a list of all the places of interest of Merida. Places within walking distance.


The cost of private instruction is only USD$645.00 per week and includes:

  • Registration and books
  • 1 week of private instruction (You may start on any given Monday).
  • 30 hours a week of instruction ( 6 hours a day ).
  • Pick up and drop off at the Merida airport (Cancún City airport USD$200 extra).
  • Orientation of Mérida, customs and culture.
  • Home stay with family (Private room with own bathroom).
    A/C extra cost $25/week.
  • 3 meals a day.
  • Free Wi-fi access.
  • Daily trips to museums, theaters, parks, movies, etc (During conversational classes).

Your round-trip airfare to Merida, Mexico is not included within the price. You may opt to fly into Cancún which is usually cheaper.

Extra expenses:

Because all three meals are included with our home-stay program*, expect only to spend between $70 and $100 USD per week on miscellaneous expenses. Of course you can spend more if you choose to participate thoroughly in the night life. If you plan to travel to one of the beaches or other locations, expect to spend about $150 - $200 USD per trip for travel, hotel and nice meals in good restaurants.

*The bus rides from your host family to the institute and back are not included. The one way bus ride is only $6 mexican pesos (US $0.46 cents approximately).
