The festival of the city of Merida 2012 has two main reasons: Celebrate the 470 anniversary of the founding of the city and also, to Celebrate the year of the Mayan culture. In the festival will perform more than 1,000 Yucatecan artists in over 200 different events. These events are divided into several subjects such as: 63 musical events, 34 theatrical events, 18 dance events, 15 multidisciplinary events, 21 tradicional events and 9 exhibitions.
